Mobile In The Hand is a set of APIs for Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded powered handheld devices for .NET Compact Framework 3.5 and later. It provides a superset of the Windows Mobile 6 managed APIs along with functionality from the full .NET framework which is missing in the Compact Framework. It also brings a number of Visual Basic features from the desktop framework to the Compact Framework such as “My” language extensions. The Professional Edition adds XML Configuration templates and schema support to Visual Studio.
The functionality is broken down into a number of assemblies which are deployed automatically through Visual Studio 2005 or 2008. Each library is predominantly modelled on either existing .NET 4.0 APIs or Windows Mobile or Windows Phone APIs. A detailed list of functionality arranged by assembly is available here. - All the above use .NET Compact Framework 3.5 and Visual Studio 2005 and 2008.
